Senior leaders face unique challenges.  They must work together as a cohesive, high-performing team to achieve the best results for the organization.  Yet they also have to lead their own functional business units.  Managing this cross-current of demands requires going beyond traditional “team-building”. Our approach is designed to build greater trust and prepare leaders to create a strong senior team, while also furthering their own development.

Senior Leadership Team Retreats

Senior leaders face unique challenges.  They must work together as a cohesive, high-performing team to achieve the best results for the organization.  Yet they also have to lead their own functional business units.  Managing this cross-current of demands requires going beyond traditional “team-building”. Our approach is designed to build greater trust and prepare leaders to create a strong senior team, while also furthering their own development.

How the senior leaders will benefit

  • Experience higher levels of trust and stronger relationships with their peers
  • Be able to raise issues and engage in constructive conflict
  • Make commitments to strengthen the team and become better leaders
  • Hold each other accountable for keeping commitments and achieving results
  • Apply learning to their functional teams for greater collaboration and results

What the retreat will cover

Each retreat is customized to meet the organization’s goals and specific challenges and combine interactive sessions with sport or adventure activities where participants can have fun and strengthen relationships outside of the work environment.  Leadership retreats are designed to:

  • Foster greater trust and strengthen relationships with each other
  • Understand critical factors that differentiate effective teams from dysfunctional ones
  • Articulate an identity and vision for the senior team
  • Explore how mental models (perspectives) impact team effectiveness
  • Develop rules of engagement for surfacing issues and dealing with conflict
  • Raise awareness on how each leader’s strengths and weaknesses impact the team
  • Make personal commitments to benefit the team and further develop as leaders
  • Determine how to hold each other accountable and how to measure success

Beyond the Retreat

Developing a cohesive, high-performing senior leadership team requires more than an annual retreat.  We recommend strategies and actions to carry the momentum forward for long-term change.  Doing so not only builds stronger leaders and a more effective senior leadership team, it also positively impacts culture and business results.

What Clients Are Saying

“I’m really pleased about the common understanding that we have come to and, most importantly, the impact this will have on those we lead.  This has been extremely valuable.  Thank you for leading us on this journey.”

“This has been close to being the three most valuable days since I’ve been with this organization.”
